WHERE DOES FRANKINCENSE ESSENTIAL OIL COME FROM?

Frankincense Essential Oil originates from the Boswellia Carterii tree, native to Somalia and regions of Pakistan. Frankincense is one of more than 90 types of essential oils that are gaining steam in the realm of aromatherapy. Essential oils are made from parts of flowers, herbs, and trees like petals, roots, peels, and bark. They get their name because they give the plant its “essence,” or fragrance. They can be inhaled or diluted (watered down) and applied to your skin.

  • Fill rest of bottle with water. …
  • Add sprayer top and shake well.

Here is the recommended dosage:

Rheumatoid arthritis: 200–400 mg, 3x times per day

Ulcerative colitis: 350–400 mg, 3x times per day

Gingivitis: 100–200 mg, 3x times per day

Asthma: 300–400 mg, 3xtimes per day

Crohn’s disease: 1,200 mg, 3x times per day

Osteoarthritis: 200 mg, 3x times per day

Warnings

  • Research is needed to assess the potential benefits and risks. Ingesting frankincense essential oil may have toxic effects and isn’t recommended, unless under a doctor’s supervision.
  • In addition, some individuals may experience irritation or an allergic reaction when applying frankincense essential oil to the skin. A skin patch test should be done before using any new essential oil. Additionally, essential oils shouldn’t be applied to skin undiluted.
  • Pregnant or nursing women and children should consult their health care providers before using essential oils. 
  • It’s also important to note that self-treating a condition with frankincense essential oil and avoiding or delaying standard care may have serious consequences.
